Role Summary

The Surgical Technology Specialist exhibits essential knowledge and competencies in the scrub role, vital for assisting during surgical operations conducted within the department.

Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Technology Specialist is accountable for:

  • Maintaining aseptic technique.
  • Preparing necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies for assigned surgical cases.
  • Scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
  • Managing case preparation and breakdown post-procedure.
  • Setting up the operating room and ensuring all supplies are ready for the current and following day's schedule.
  • Being available for on-call duties as required by unit needs.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program.
Preferred: Associate degree.

Experience

Preferred: 1 year of relevant experience.

Certifications

Required: BLS certification and Surgical Technology certification.
