The Senior Financial Services Advisor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional support to students, families, and the broader RIT community regarding various financial service matters. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to students, parents, and university departments on a diverse range of financial services issues.
- Provide accurate and timely information regarding tuition, room and board costs, fees, and payment methods, including financial aid and external credits.
- Engage in detailed activities involving third-party billing, collections, student account services, accounts receivable, cashier functions, and the Federal Perkins Loan Program.
- Conduct outreach to students and families to address account balances, which may exceed $25,000 per semester, and recommend viable payment solutions while exercising professional judgment in resolving overdue balances.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of university policies and federal/state regulations governing financial aid programs, including Federal Title IV Programs, NYS TAP, State VR programs, and various financing options.
- Maintain proficiency in the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system and other relevant administrative systems to ensure efficient processing of student account adjustments and billing.
- Assist in the testing of new functionalities for PeopleSoft and collaborate with internal departments and external agencies.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on federal loan programs, advising students on repayment and consolidation options while actively seeking alternatives to prevent defaults.
- Handle incoming inquiries, process transactions, and provide in-person assistance to customers.
- Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management.
- Participate in a minimum of 40 hours of training and professional development annually to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Oracle financial applications, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, or similar enterprise systems, along with proficiency in MS Office.
- Understanding of accounting principles, strong mathematical skills, and the ability to analyze financial data for informed decision-making.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising professional judgment in all responsibilities.
- Capability to build and maintain relationships with various academic and student service departments to proactively address financial or academic issues.
