About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Operations Specialist to join our team at Gray Construction. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and approve contractor pre-qualification documentation, ensuring compliance with Gray's safety standards.
  • Manage incident reporting, reviewing and editing reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and analyze safety statistics, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Participate in the interviewing process for prospective team members, providing hiring recommendations to the Director, Safety.
  • Assist with staffing projects, including recruitment and onboarding.
  • Review and update the safety manual, ensuring it remains current and compliant with industry standards.
  • Coordinate safety events and outings, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a safety position in the construction industry or four years of administrative experience with a construction company.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A passion for safety and a commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
