We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our Global Labor and Employment Law Group. This team is responsible for providing advice and counsel to HR professionals both domestically and internationally, working on critical initiatives, and leading all aspects of labor and employment litigation.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of labor and employment practice experience, with a strong background in counseling clients on labor and employment matters. They will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and advising on legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local labor & employment laws, regulations, and policies.

The Senior Counsel will participate in and influence the decision-making process with appropriate clients and collaborators, educate clients and collaborators on legal matters, policies, and procedures, and independently handle legal matters and projects ranging from basic to sophisticated.

This role requires some domestic travel (20%) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, and will have the ability to establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with clients, partners, legal team members, and other colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise, Counsel, Manage, and Influence:
    • Identify, assess, and advise on legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local labor & employment laws, regulations, and policies.
    • Participate in and influence the decision-making process with appropriate clients and collaborators.
    • Educate clients and collaborators on legal matters, policies, and procedures.
    • Independently handle legal matters and projects ranging from basic to sophisticated.
  • Relationships and Oversight:
    • Supervise, lead, and evaluate outside counsel as appropriate.
    • Supervise and/or provide direction to administrative, paralegal, and other support staff.
    • Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with clients, partners, legal team members, and other colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of labor and employment practice experience.
  • Experience handling labor and employment matters before federal, state courts, and administrative agencies.
  • Experience in counseling clients on labor and employment matters.
  • Strong written and communication skills required.
  • Unquestionable integrity.
