Job Title: Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving the repair capability and customer satisfaction of our dealerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and consult with dealerships to identify areas for improvement in repair processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Product Concern Engineering, PD, and Dealerships to provide insight and reporting of vehicle concerns to affect future vehicle off-road concerns.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to identify at-risk dealerships and create plans to address high downtime, high repeat repair, and SRP inhibitors.
  • Drive for results by developing dealership consultation plans and playbooks to implement best-in-class practices and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis with dealerships, PD, and Assembly Plant Teams to develop diagnostic modeling for dealer-facing information.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in automotive technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the field within the automotive industry.
  • Strong project/program management experience and business acumen.
  • Experience, success, and a firm understanding of the Vehicle Service Repair process.
  • Proven track record of working independently, following through, and solving problems quickly.
  • Able to interact with all levels of dealership management and internal Ford management.
  • Self-starter capable of operating independently and adapting to dynamic situations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build strong relationships with dealership personnel and corporate cross-functional activities.
  • Ability to accomplish required position duties and business plan objectives without direct supervision.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of key business applications (MS Office, WebEx, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Strategic and creative thinking with the ability to conceptualize and communicate ideas.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Automotive service technical background.
  • Ford-specific automotive repair technical training.
  • Automotive dealership or independent 'hands-on' vehicle repair experience.
  • Ford-specific experience.
  • Understanding and/or experience with GCQIS, PTS, AWS, OWS, QED, Warranty Dashboards.
