Associate Director, Alumni Networks

Join Boston University's Development and Alumni Relations team as an Associate Director, Alumni Networks. In this role, you will be responsible for managing BU alumni volunteers across our primary regional networks, recruiting and training alumni network volunteers, and ensuring the success of all assigned networks as a key element of the BU Alumni Association's global network.
Key Responsibilities:- Volunteer Management: Engage alumni and increase their connection to each other and to the University by organizing, managing, and directing strategic regional alumni programs, events, activities, communications, and special projects to further the goals of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
- Program Management: Collaborate with school and college development officers, regional major gifts officers, and annual giving colleagues to identify, coordinate, and execute programming and outreach with the objective of increasing alumni communication, participation, philanthropy, and engagement.
- Event Planning: Assist with the planning and coordination of regular regional events with network leaders, manage signature regional events with multiple stakeholders, and encourage network participation in Alumni Weekend, Global Days of Service, and other BU annual events.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in volunteer management and event planning.
- Motivated self-starter with ability to drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Critical thinker with strong judgement in prioritizing problems and developing solutions.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities.
- Exemplary communications skills (both written and verbal) and ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of persons at all levels of management within and external to a university environment.
- People management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in database management, providing outstanding customer service, and timely communications.
- Demonstrated computer competency and knowledgeable of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and social media outlets.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
