Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled 2nd Lien Loan Consultant to join our team at Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing. As a key member of our loss mitigation team, you will be responsible for maximizing recovery and disposition of delinquent 2nd lien accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze loan information to identify optimal workout strategies for individual borrowers.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to engage with borrowers and resolve delinquencies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and underwrite borrower income to determine the most feasible and appropriate solution for the homeowner.
  • Utilize delegated authority tools and client matrices to inform workout strategies.
  • Ensure all calls and loss mitigation efforts are compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Address homeowner questions and concerns, and handle escalated files appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date servicing files, including necessary documents and correspondence.
  • Use manual and dialer strategies to contact delinquent homeowners, while adhering to FDCPA guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and written means, and contribute to the progress of the department by understanding and positively impacting measurements used to define success.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years' experience in collections and loss mitigation.
  • Familiarity with tracking databases and the Internet.
  • Knowledge of loan terminology, rights, and processes.
  • Excellent work ethic, high productivity, and acute attention to detail.
  • Superior verbal communication and negotiation skills.
