Position Overview

This role is classified as Hybrid and is tasked with overseeing the analysis of daily unbilled accounts, ensuring effective communication of necessary actions to relevant departments for precise coding and billing of claims.

The specialist will supervise the HIM Unbilled data and manage the daily tracking and reporting of total unbilled accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to identify and rectify charge and coding denials or rejections.
  2. Work closely with financial auditors and the SSC Denials Team to facilitate resolution.
  3. Ensure prompt and effective communication with the centralized coding team and management regarding billing errors and coding denials.
  4. Engage with the HIM Director and other hospital departments to optimize the revenue cycle process, addressing charge-related concerns with unbilled accounts and corporate/facility audits.
  5. Participate in documentation audits for compliance and quality reporting as required.
  6. Support the HIM Operations team as necessary.

This position reports directly to the HIM Director.
