Position Overview
PRN Rotating, Days/Nights
The UMMC Midtown Campus Post-Acute Specialty Program (PASP) provides a nurturing environment for patients requiring care beyond the acute stage.
PASP is composed of a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, rehabilitation and respiratory therapists, dietitians, and other specialists, all focused on delivering tailored, continuous patient care.
This collaborative, multidisciplinary approach ensures that the goals of patients and their families are effectively met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with policies and protocols while assisting colleagues in optimizing resource use. Participate in the completion of core measures, competencies, regulatory requirements, quality metrics, service excellence, and educational initiatives.
- Serve as a unit leader, fulfilling charge duties, mentoring, and precepting new staff. Proactively identify and resolve issues during shifts and in ongoing practice.
- Assist in conducting patient assessments and reassessments as necessary, collecting information from diverse sources to support the formulation of nursing diagnoses.
- Develop personalized Care Plans based on patient evaluations, establishing achievable and measurable objectives, and meticulously documenting in patient records.
- Coordinate and manage available resources and personnel to implement and adhere to the Care Plan.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse License in the State of Maryland.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- ACLS provider certification required within the first year of employment in designated departments.
