Salary and Benefits:

Job Description:

This is a full-time position supporting high-needs ASD classrooms across the district. You will work with 4 schools that have full-time social workers, supporting 1-2 ASD classrooms in each building. We offer flexibility in creating a schedule that suits your needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's (MSW) or Doctoral degree in Social Work
  • LMSW license eligible in the State of Michigan
  • School Social Work Approval Form (ss310)
  • Preferred experience in a K-12 setting

Responsibilities:

  • Provide school-based counseling services to students in individual and group settings
  • Develop methods of tracking behavior support plans through data analysis
  • Participate in meetings and maintain records of assessments and progress monitoring
  • Organize classroom meetings and social skills groups to address specific areas of concern
  • Connect students and families with community mental health organizations
  • Promote student self-advocacy and independence by encouraging them to identify their needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with families on educational planning for each student
