Columbus Countryside Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Assistant to enhance our medical team.

Location:
N4359 Temkin Road, Columbus, WI 53925

Clinic Hours:
Monday - Thursday 7:30a-6p, Friday 7:30a-5p, and Saturday 8a-12p.

Shift Details:
Average hours per week: 30-35, plus 1 to 2 Saturdays per month (8am to noon).

Compensation:
$ /hr

Job Summary:

The Veterinary Assistant provides essential support to the medical team in the operation of an animal care facility, adhering to the policies and procedures of Mission Veterinary Partners (MVP).

The Veterinary Assistant also delivers medical care to patients as permitted by the veterinary practice act.

Responsibilities:

Uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.

Assist with all daily clinic operations.

Engage in special cleaning tasks as needed.

Facilitate client care by managing appointment scheduling, processing payments, and handling check-ins.

Maintain exceptional communication with clients.


Accurately document all relevant medical, client, and case-related information in patient records using appropriate terminology and grammar.

Review medical records, estimates, or discharge instructions with clients.

Answer phone calls in a courteous and informative manner.

Provide patient care under the supervision of a DVM.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Proficiency in a variety of skills including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills is essential.

Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in high-pressure situations, along with the capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Maintain calmness and efficiency during medical emergencies.


The candidate must possess cognitive abilities for reasoning, memory, mathematics, and language skills (reading, writing, and speaking English) to perform duties effectively.

The candidate must also be comfortable around animals.
