As a key player in this position, you will actively engage with agents and brokers in the marketplace, driving growth through strategic partnerships with national wholesalers while maintaining a focus on profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and nurture relationships with broker partners and clients across various industries to support business objectives.
- Utilize your expertise in casualty underwriting to assess risks, evaluate exposures, and establish pricing that ensures a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting, to gain comprehensive insights into a dynamic and evolving industry.
- Employ your market-facing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to foster and expand relationships with preferred distribution partners within your designated territory.
- Act as an advocate for customer industries, enhancing the customer experience by thoroughly understanding their risks and providing optimal insurance solutions.
- Implement a disciplined approach to risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing strategies.
- Leverage risk insights, data, and analytical models to inform decision-making at the point of sale.
- Engage in market-facing activities and production within the expanding Zurich E&S Casualty division.
- Oversee and enforce underwriting rules, regulations, and guidelines while ensuring compliance with insurance laws.
- Handle complex assignments within broad limits and authorities.
- Mentor and empower junior team members through coaching and development initiatives.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support roles, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support roles.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 14+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support roles, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles, or
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 12+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support roles.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the E&S Commercial insurance sector.
- Technical proficiency in Primary Casualty Underwriting within the E&S domain.
- Established relationships with wholesale brokers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
