Senior Underwriter, Primary and Excess Casualty

The Senior Underwriter, Primary and Excess Casualty role at Liberty Mutual is a key position that requires analytical and data-driven decision-making skills. As a representative of Liberty Mutual, you will be responsible for underwriting business, leveraging market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business. This role involves managing a portfolio of wholesale brokers/agents and clients, maintaining a strong market presence, and contributing to team projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Business or equivalent, a minimum of 2.5 years of progressive underwriting experience in E&S Primary Casualty and Excess Casualty, and CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of wholesale brokers/agents and clients.
- Leverage market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business.
- Maintain a strong market presence, including established relationships with agents and brokers.
- Contribute to team projects, such as process and tool improvement.
- Collaborate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners.
- Mentor junior underwriters and new hires.
- Degree in Business or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2.5 years of progressive underwriting experience in E&S Primary Casualty and Excess Casualty.
- CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
- Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks.
- Must demonstrate comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues.
