About the Role:

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to become a part of Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations. Our Electrical Engineering Team is in search of a proactive problem solver to collaborate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is essential for executing electrical engineering services that align with Warrick Operations' business objectives by supporting production, maintenance, and engineering teams. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the efficiency, output, and quality of our processes, focusing on the safe integration of electrical systems with manufacturing and upgrading existing equipment. The primary responsibilities will include PLC/HMI controls, redesign, and enhancements of current processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programs that support process improvements to meet Warrick Operations' business goals safely.
  • Oversee all phases of assigned electrical engineering projects, including concept development, specification writing, bid solicitation, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
  • Assist production and maintenance teams with equipment and process challenges.
  • Utilize theoretical knowledge and experience to troubleshoot issues, develop sustainable solutions, and drive long-term improvements in equipment performance.
  • Lead and engage in process improvement initiatives with multidisciplinary technical staff, maintenance, and production teams.
  • Mentor team members to enhance their process knowledge and support their professional development.
  • Work towards minimizing waste through reliability enhancements and process monitoring, ensuring compliance with expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred experience of 3 years with PLCs, HMIs, AC drives & motors, low & medium power distribution, and instrumentation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required upon hire.
  • Preferred experience of 3 years in leading, managing, and executing electrical projects.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with RSLogix.
  • Familiarity with network protocols: DH+, DNet, CNet, & Enet.
  • Proven track record in leading successful capital projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and root cause problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with all levels of employees, understanding the importance of details.
