About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, Continuous Improvement to join our Cardiac Rhythm Management division in Minnetonka, MN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, and improve process flow and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or contribute to projects which include new production equipment, process improvements, and cost reductions while supporting new product introductions
  • Provide technical mentorship to engineers and technicians
  • Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Work with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability
  • Analyze, create, and implement manufacturing and/or business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce work in process, and improve the quality, cost, and delivery performance of Abbott
  • Complete capacity analyses internally and/or at suppliers for headcount, equipment, and space requirements using simulation software or other effective tools
  • Identify opportunities and drive incorporation of appropriate Lean tool usage into the daily functions of continuous improvement
  • Make recommendations to teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, more manufacturable products
  • Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 6 years related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area
  • Technical/Business Knowledge-Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures
  • Strong understanding of business unit function and cross-group dependencies/relationships
  • Cognitive Skills- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
