SUMMARY: The Neurovascular Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in supporting neurovascular and endovascular procedures, assisting with a variety of diagnostic and interventional tasks.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
  • Adhere to established protocols for physician diagnosis and treatment
  • Assist in a range of interventions, including treatments for cerebral aneurysms and strokes
  • Operate diverse imaging and therapeutic equipment
  • Manage inventory, prepare medical devices, and assist in procedures
  • Provide patient care activities within the professional scope
  • Maintain strict sterile environment practices and infection control
  • Stay updated on new imaging techniques and procedures
  • Support the training of students and orientation of new staff
Education, QA/Compliance, Policies, and Procedures
  • Maintain necessary licensure and certifications
  • Adhere to quality control and compliance standards
  • Ensure accurate documentation and coding for procedures
  • Follow all policies and procedures
  • Participate in departmental meetings
Inventory Management/CPT Coding
  • Manage inventory and supplies for procedures
  • Ensure precise documentation for billing purposes
  • Identify and describe IR CPT coding components
Critical Thinking/Strategic Alignment
  • Utilize critical thinking to address patient needs
  • Enhance productivity and operational effectiveness
  • Engage in practices to expedite patient care
  • Actively contribute to quality and performance improvement initiatives
Other responsibilities as assigned

Required education: Graduation from an AMA accredited Radiology Technology program
Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Imaging with a focus on CT & Interventions Required experience: Three years as a registered Radiologic Technologist or one year of IR experience
Required certification: ARRT registration, CMRT license, BLS/CPR certification
Preferred certification: VI credential from ARRT, ACLS certification.
