Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Equipment Improvement: Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield.
  • Equipment Failure Analysis: Perform equipment failure analyses, including preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
Major Position Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage a crew performing routine preventive maintenance and safety inspection operations for a plant's mechanical equipment, control systems, or power distribution systems.
  • Scheduling: Follow a daily and weekly schedule to effectively assign maintenance and repair tasks and may use a work order system to track work orders.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a replacement and spare part inventory at required levels.
  • Training and Development: Responsible for training and development of staff, including estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work and material handling follow established safety procedures and regulations.
  • Leadership: Lead and direct the work of other employees and have responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree or Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
  • Experience: 7-8 years experience relevant to the positions functional area.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Automation Calibration: Proficient in automation calibration and equipment maintenance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Experienced in equipment maintenance, failure analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, including training and development of staff.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
