Salary and BenefitsThis full-time Summer opportunity comes with a competitive salary of $25 per hour, plus up to $400 in travel reimbursement for those relocating from outside the Bay Area. Job DescriptionWe're seeking an exceptional Process Engineering Intern to join our research and development facility in Berkeley, California. As a key member of our mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineering teams, you'll work on the design and manufacturing of novel direct air capture systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with experienced engineers to develop innovative process designs and deliverables;
- Preparing PFDs and P&IDs for DAC applications;
- Designing, simulating, and engineering novel process systems using Aspen Plus;
- Conducting calibration experiments and analyzing data for instrumentation in the field;
- Working directly with project and mechanical engineers to drive project success.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A strong foundation in Chemical Engineering or a related field, including completed coursework in Separations and Heat Transfer;
- Genuine motivation, curiosity, and a drive to pursue projects to their full potential;
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills;
- A strong desire to seek out opportunities within the company and contribute to its growth;
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred, but not required – you'll have the chance to learn and develop your skills.
