Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Master's Level Therapist to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) as a crisis intervention specialist. The successful candidate will provide initial screening and necessary triage for immediate response to mental health crisis calls, evaluating lethality/risk assessment and mental status examinations, and determining necessary level of care to identified clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as a team member within a multi-agency team in the delivery of crisis intervention services
  • Provide initial screening and necessary triage for immediate response to mental health crisis calls
  • Evaluate lethality/risk assessment and mental status examinations
  • Determine necessary level of care to identified clients
  • Act as a resource for local law enforcement agencies and local crisis hotlines

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy and/or certification in the field of addictions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and utilize sound clinical judgment
  • Familiar with Florida Baker Act laws

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed in the State of Florida as a psychologist, social worker, mental health counselor, or marriage and family therapist and/or certification in the field of addictions

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, lift a minimum of 30lbs., stretch, lower and raise self independently from floor. Ability to see and hear in emergency situations. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to travel locally.

Special Working Conditions:

Exposure to consumers and a variety of program conditions, which may include long, irregular hours, on-call duties, weekend hours, and local travel. Exposure to a wide range of community environments outside the agency including client homes, school, or other community locations.
