Position Overview:

The Community Outreach Specialist plays a crucial role in connecting with individuals in need and fostering relationships within the community. The responsibilities include:

  • Conducting outreach efforts in neighborhoods with a significant presence of individuals experiencing substance use challenges.
  • Engaging with both potential and existing clients to advance service objectives and provide essential support.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with local community organizations and stakeholders.
  • Identifying potential referral sources and assisting in the development of promotional materials.
  • Presenting LESC's programs to referring agencies through on-site visits.
  • Providing constructive feedback to intake personnel regarding referral processes.
  • Ensuring a positive experience for clients throughout the referral journey.
  • Representing LESC at community events and professional gatherings.
  • Participating in team meetings focused on service utilization reviews.
  • Documenting client interactions, area assessments, and special projects.
  • Operating the outreach vehicle for community canvassing.
  • Engaging in outreach activities to locate individuals in need across various locations.
  • Carrying out additional assigned responsibilities as required.

Compensation: $40,000 - $43,000 (commensurate with experience)

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
  • Proficiency with computers and mobile technology
  • Personal experience is essential
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) is preferred but not mandatory
  • A valid NYS driver's license with CDL is required
