We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer II to join our Water business line in Illinois. This is a great opportunity for a PE who is interested in working with a dynamic team on a wide range of projects for our Water-Wastewater Team, while mentoring junior team members and providing guidance under the direction of a Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
- Actively assist the Project Manager, or act as project manager, and assign tasks and schedules to Staff Engineer (I/II), Project Engineer and non-exempt project team members.
- Check the accuracy of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.
- Makes major design decisions that meet the needs of external customers while coordinating the impact of such decisions on related project efforts.
- Pro-actively identify technical, schedule or financial issues and seek resolution from the Project Manager and/or the client.
- Assist the Client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager.
- Monitor construction and supervise field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project.
- Respond to contractor questions and issues and prepare and issue project addenda as needed.
- Recommend and prepare change orders.
- Participate in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work.
- Sign and seal engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering and be professionally registered (P.E.) in one or more states in which HR Green, Inc. conducts business.
- Seven or more years of design/engineering experience and a demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company to sign engineering documents.
- Strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and ability to read technical literature and engineering plans.
- Capable of correctly operating technical analysis equipment and computer equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.
- Hold current registered Professional Engineer certification in one or more states in which HR Green conducts business or have the ability to obtain such registration within six months of employment.
- Previous water/wastewater experience required.
