Position: Electrical Systems Technician
Compensation: $35-45/hour plus overtime opportunities
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Systems Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Understanding and applying the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Demonstrating a solid grasp of electrical principles such as Ohm's Law, induction, and various power types.
- Utilizing essential tools of the trade, including ammeters, voltmeters, and thermal scanners.
- Ensuring compliance with local and state building codes.
- Exhibiting knowledge of relay logic and transformer connections.
- Working with both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Calculating wire sizes based on ampacity charts.
- Planning electrical installations, selecting appropriate materials such as boxes, panels, and breakers.
- Executing EMT bending and troubleshooting electrical issues with or without schematics.
- Programming and troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Completing work orders efficiently and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Implementing lockout/tagout procedures for safety.
- Operating aerial lifts, ladders, and forklifts in compliance with safety standards.
- Performing tasks related to instrumentation and control systems.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience with PLCs, including installation, maintenance, and programming.
- Familiarity with HMI systems and their troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of various electrical components such as sensors, relays, and temperature devices.
This is a full-time position with expected working hours ranging from 40 to 55 hours per week.
