Position Overview

Role Summary

The Metal Fabrication Specialist is responsible for executing a variety of welding tasks, ranging from light tacking to substantial flat and overhead welding. This role involves ensuring that all welds comply with product specifications and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from blueprints to accurately measure and position metal components for welding tasks.
  • Utilize a diverse array of power tools, including saws, grinders, drills, welders, overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and perform routine maintenance on tools.

Experience and Skills Required

  • 1-2 years of experience in MIG welding operations is preferred; a welding certificate or degree is advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding job order specifications, work instructions, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and good shop math skills, including fractions and decimals.
  • Capable of using standard measuring instruments effectively.
  • Experience operating grinders, ironworkers, torches, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces (e.g., concrete) for extended periods, up to 10 hours daily, in varying temperatures.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and visual acuity.
  • Physical capability to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and stoop as required by the job functions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attendance record.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English.
