Position Overview

Role Summary

The position involves executing a variety of welding tasks, ranging from light assembly to substantial structural welding. The successful candidate will ensure that all welds conform to the required product specifications and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize blueprints to accurately measure and position metal components for welding.
  • Operate an array of power tools, including saws, grinders, drills, welders, overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.

Experience and Skills Required

  • 1-2 years of experience in MIG welding is preferred; a welding certification or degree is advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting job specifications, work instructions, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Good mathematical skills, including fractions and decimals.
  • Familiarity with standard measuring instruments.
  • Capability to operate grinders, ironworkers, torches, and similar equipment.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods in varying temperature conditions.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and visual acuity.
  • Physical capability to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, and stoop as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Self-motivated with a strong attendance record.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English.
