Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to hospital managers, directors, and officers to ensure effective financial management.
  • Ensure the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Manage costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate non-value costs in conjunction with the hospital's Administrative Management Team.
  • Analyze areas in planning, promoting, and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities.
  • Attend hospital meetings including but not limited to medical staff, board of directors, and committee meetings as well as representing the hospital at relevant community meetings as needed.
  • Participate in the hospital's monthly operation reviews as well as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary.
  • Prepare financial pro forma information on capital projects and ensure access to external debt markets or identifies other capital financial strategies appropriate to the circumstances.
  • Invest excess short/long term cash and/or investment portfolios to maximize the return on investment while maintaining the safety of the investments.
  • Ensure physician/provider contracts are current and meet current regulations such as Stark, Anti-Kickback, etc.
Qualifications
  • Previous CFO level or equivalent experience within an acute care (CAH) environment required.
  • Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years financial/accounting progressive managerial experience in acute-care (CAH) environment with skills including business acumen, strategic planning, decision making in view of financial priorities and internal and external conditions.
  • Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Graduate degree in a minimum 4 year degree program in Business, Finance or Accounting.
