Production Supervisor Opportunity at Bachoco OK Foods

Bachoco OK Foods, a leading chicken producer, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team at our Fort Smith, AR Further Processing facility.

Job Summary

The Production Supervisor will report to the Shift Manager and be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe production on assigned lines, meeting customer needs and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of hourly employees
  • Ensure safety, performance, yields, staffing, time and attendance, training, and corrective actions for assigned shift
  • Follow and enforce company policies, Food Safety Guidelines, and GMP procedures
  • Work with other departments to ensure customer specifications and USDA requirements are met
  • Complete daily reporting for shift, including employee time edits
  • Maximize yields and throughputs while maintaining quality standards
  • Participate in interviews for open positions
  • Ensure safety and job-specific training are conducted on assigned shift
  • Prepare assigned shift for customer and BRC audits
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred
  • Relevant supervisory or lead experience in par fry, fully cooked, further processing operations preferred
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to build relationships and influence to get results
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish a plus
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises up to 30 employees, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of payroll systems, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheet software, and Outlook.
