Job Title: Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of production activities, including receiving raw materials, managing raw material and product flow, and conducting regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Directly supervise production activities, including kiln operation, screening, ball mill operations, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while minimizing costs and maximizing production.
  • Maintain product quality standards and initiate and follow-up on maintenance requests.
  • Identify, administer, and recommend necessary training needs for plant operations personnel.
  • Monitor manpower requirements and recommend changes or improvements.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safe work areas throughout the active plant production area.
  • Report issues of concern to plant management immediately.
  • Collect, check, and forward all necessary labor and operating reports.
  • Maintain an accurate physical inventory of finished goods.
  • Regularly initiate or participate in Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to schedule shipments.
  • Maintain open communications with direct reports and management, both orally and by written reports.
  • Become proficient in Covia's IFS platform, a cloud-based enterprise resource planning solution.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years of production and shipping experience is required.
  • Prior experience supervising in an industrial or mineral processing environment is preferred.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to achieve results through others are essential.
  • Preference given to candidates with kiln or ball mill production experience.
  • Preference given to candidates with a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a technical field.
