About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Billing & Docketing Specialist to join our esteemed legal team. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our organization's success by ensuring accurate and efficient billing and docketing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the billing and docketing processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with firm policies and client requirements.
  • Utilize Microsoft Access, Timeslips, Legal Tracker, and CPI Computer Packages Inc. software to manage and track billing and docketing information.
  • Generate and distribute invoices to clients in a timely manner, resolving any issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor and manage the firm's docketing system, ensuring all deadlines are accurately recorded and communicated to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate billing and docketing.
  • Perform regular audits of billing and docketing data to identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies.
  • Provide training and support to other team members on the use of billing and docketing software and procedures.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in billing and docketing operations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in billing and docketing within the legal industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Timeslips, Legal Tracker, and CPI Computer Packages Inc. software.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve billing and docketing discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Experience in training and supporting team members in billing and docketing procedures is highly desirable.
