Job Description

MEDICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Arlington, VA

Must-Haves:
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical assistant in a fast-paced medical practice.
Certified or registered as a medical assistant or willing to become so with an MA diploma.
Experience working in an allergy or ENT office is preferred.
Proven ability to administer injections safely and effectively.
Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, including updating information in electronic medical records (EMR).
Excellent patient interaction and communication skills, with the ability to translate for Spanish-speaking patients.

Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:
Rooming Patients: Ensure a clean and comfortable environment for patients.
Obtaining Vitals: Accurately measure vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
Administering Injections: Safely and effectively administer injections as prescribed by physicians or physician assistants.
Mixing Serums: Prepare serums according to instructions and ensure proper storage and disposal.
Assisting Physicians: Assist physicians and physician assistants during exams and procedures, providing necessary equipment and support.
Patient Communication: Clearly instruct patients on post-exam care and provide feedback as directed by physicians or physician assistants.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including filing reports, labs, and other relevant documents.
Office Maintenance: Ensure exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and instruments are properly maintained and sterilized.

Estimated salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year based on location and experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
