Position Overview:

As a vital member of BMO's Retail Banking Sales & Service team, you will provide outstanding service to our customers and prospects. Your role will involve identifying customer needs and offering tailored financial solutions that align with their best interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with customers to conduct needs-based assessments, fostering loyalty and uncovering immediate and future opportunities.
  • Guide clients through needs assessments to identify suitable financial solutions and preferred banking channels, recommending personalized options that address both sales and service requirements.
  • Advise customers on available digital and self-service banking options, ensuring a seamless and efficient banking experience.
  • Support customer transaction needs based on branch traffic and demand.
  • Expand BMO's business by reaching out to potential clients, generating appointments, and building relationships within the community.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues identified through consumer credit audits and quality checks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the Bank's assets and maintain the integrity of the lending portfolio.
  • Make informed credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, adhering to sound credit principles and Bank policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with branch and market teams to enhance customer service delivery.
  • Understand customer banking and credit card needs, integrating marketing promotions into discussions to provide strategic insights.
  • Organize work-related information to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Seek innovative approaches to personalize each customer's experience.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the branch's overall customer experience.
  • Support business outcomes and enhance the overall service experience in the branch.
  • Flexibility to work at multiple branches as needed, with varying schedules.
  • Adhere to risk and compliance protocols to protect customer assets and privacy.
  • Stay informed about the financial services landscape, legal regulations, and ethical standards in the industry.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of personal banking products and trends, integrating this knowledge into customer interactions.
  • Identify and report any suspicious activities that may indicate money laundering.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard the Bank's assets in accordance with all applicable regulations and ethical standards.
  • Handle diverse tasks within established guidelines, including addressing escalations from colleagues.
  • Analyze issues and determine appropriate next steps.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 2-3 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration to sell investment products as required for the jurisdiction.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Familiarity with retail investments and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role, with a focus on delivering personalized customer experiences.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team environment.
  • Resourceful self-starter with the confidence to engage customers.
  • Willingness to collaborate and work in various capacities as part of a team.
