Staff Development Coordinator

Lakewood Retirement Community-LifeSpire is seeking a highly skilled Staff Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing education and training to our nursing staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive education programs for nursing staff, including general orientation, annual inservice, and ongoing education.
  • Provide clinical support and training to nursing staff in healthcare, assisted living, and the clinic.
  • Collaborate with all departments to identify training needs and design and coordinate training programs.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of education programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice as a Nurse in Virginia (LPN) but RN preferred.
  • Previous work experience within a Skilled Nursing Facility or Continuing Care Retirement Community.
  • Academic and/or professional experience pertaining to adult education in the workplace.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
