Endocrinologist Clinical Educator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Endocrinologist to join our team as a Clinical Educator. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care while educating the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and mentor endocrinology fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Provide consultative patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Contribute to the educational and clinical activities of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism
  • Participate in research initiatives and mentor students and residents in research and quality improvement projects
  • Work collaboratively with institutional and administrative staff to achieve the objectives of Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health System
Requirements:
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism
  • Direct experience in managing complex inpatients and outpatients
  • Demonstrated expertise in diabetes and metabolism, thyroid disorders, or metabolic bone disease
  • Interest in teaching and growth in an academic setting
  • Qualification for an appointment as assistant/associate professor
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a diverse team and provide effective communication
