The University of Miami Health System is conducting a search for an Associate Professor of Clinical Audiology and Director of Audiology Clinical Education.

The individual in this role will oversee and manage the training and onboarding initiatives within the Division of Audiology in the Department of Otolaryngology. Reporting directly to the Chief of the Division, the Director is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and monitoring the objectives and activities of the Audiology Clinical Education (ACE) program, ensuring adherence to the highest educational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing training for Visiting Professors
  • Facilitating the development of educational programs
  • Promoting the ACE program
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional policies
  • Maintaining an up-to-date clinical education manual and accurate training records
  • Staying informed on legislative, regulatory, and legal issues impacting clinical education and the field of Audiology
  • Executing the training curriculum established by the Chief
  • Establishing measurable competencies and metrics for evaluation
  • Engaging faculty in the planning, implementation, and assessment of clinical education
  • Reviewing ACE policies and procedures with affiliated institutions
  • Collaborating with the Chief to streamline the application process
  • Coordinating with the residency program director to maintain application and institutional records
  • Overseeing preceptor training and continuing education unit (CEU) records
  • Providing ongoing training and feedback to preceptors
  • Creating a safe and effective learning environment that meets the standards of the Department of Otolaryngology
  • Managing the onboarding process for new audiologists and conducting regular chart reviews
  • Working with specialty program directors to develop and update competencies
  • Ensuring timely completion of Master Competencies forms by the Onboarding Committee
  • Leading monthly chart reviews following the onboarding period.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Audiology (AuD or PhD) is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical teaching experience is required
