Job Overview:
As a Senior Freight Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of freight operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating smooth and timely freight processes.
  • Ensuring precise and prompt data entry into our operational systems.
  • Tracking and tracing shipments as necessary.
  • Utilizing Process Monitors and Workflows on a daily basis.
  • Guaranteeing timely movement and delivery of freight to clients.
  • Sending necessary documents to customers or brokers for customs compliance.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing for clients.
  • Engaging with customers to arrange shipments, consistently exceeding service expectations.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with vendors, including ocean carriers and trucking companies.
  • Evaluating vendor performance regularly, focusing on improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborating with sales and account management teams to maintain and develop customer relationships.
  • Obtaining updated rates and schedules from carriers and communicating them to customers.
  • Responding promptly to requests for proposals and quotations with competitive pricing.
  • Conducting rate analyses to determine optimal costs and service levels.
  • Adhering to compliance regulations and internal policies.
  • Ensuring all customer standard operating procedures are followed and updated.
  • Meeting key performance indicators as per company standards.
  • Managing communications and timely responses to inquiries.
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of transportation documentation and terminology.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and MS Office.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proactive approach and strong organizational abilities.
  • A genuine desire to learn and grow within the industry.
