Job Description

Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled SAS Programmer to provide technical support to our federal client located in Washington, D.C. The work can be performed remotely with occasional planned travel to the office.

This is a remote full-time position with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data files and SAS programs in large analytic systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, import/export data from RDBMS and other sources for inclusion in Oracle-based systems.
  • Clean and process data to prepare for analysis and publication processes.
  • Migrate complex legacy processes to new database environments.
  • Familiar with data validation best practices.
  • Strong background in SAS development and integration, data management, data analytics, and reporting.
  • Design and conduct validity checks on data products with minimal oversight.
  • Analysis and creation of technical reports.
  • Quality control support for technical reports.
  • Adhere to data security procedures.
  • Work with interdisciplinary technology teams to build survey processing systems.
  • Experience estimating task times and constructing reasonable schedules.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • BS/BA degree in business, computer science, information technology management, or equivalent field (relevant experience may substitute for degree). Master's degree is a plus.
  • BA/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Social Science, or other quantitative field.
  • 2 years' experience in programming Statistical Analysis System (SAS). (Base, Enterprise Guide, Viya)
  • Database experience (TOAD, SQL)
  • Base SAS Certification or comparable experience required.
  • Position requires familiarity with: Data step programming, PROC SQL, macro processing, use of date variables.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to construct and perform quality control checks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to understand and address complex problems and systems.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall SDLCs would be a plus.
  • Linux, PL/SQL, and SAS BI tool experience a plus.
