Job Summary

We are seeking an Electrical and Controls Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and consulting on new system control architectures, process instrumentation, and controls integration of treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review new system control architectures and site infrastructure, including process and instrumentation drawings, process control narratives, process specifications, and electrical site plans.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and Submittals.
  • Consult on electrical power budgets and power distribution infrastructure plans.
  • Troubleshoot and debug system issues.

Requirements

  • Typically 10+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Ability to design and oversee the start-up and commissioning of process control equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create process and instrumentation diagrams and control narratives.
  • Experience creating operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Understanding of PLC wiring and programming.
  • Proficiency in working with 4-20mA analog loops.
  • Ability to read and modify electrical schematics.
  • Basic familiarity with NEC standards.
  • Familiarity with calibrating and programming instruments.
  • Basic networking capabilities and understanding of virtualized systems.
  • High proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and associated packages, including Excel, Word, and Visio.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with SCADA/HMI programming platforms.
  • Understanding of telemetry systems.
  • Certifications such as Security+, CASP+, OSCP, CEH, or CISSP.
  • Background in Object-Oriented programming, such as Python and C++.

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $115,000 to $140,000, dependent on skills, experience, and other factors.
