About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our EDA Engineering team at Powell Industries. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems and equipment, ensuring they meet safety, efficiency, and performance standards.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems related to electrical systems, collaborating with other engineers and professionals as needed.
  • Develop detailed Bills of Material for medium and low voltage switchgear, and order materials accordingly.
  • Create drawings and transmit them to the shop and customer, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Interface with project management, customer, and shop teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Check completed tasks by more senior engineers, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Project Management throughout the project, providing regular updates and status reports.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales, engineering, and inspection teams as needed.
  • Assist with and solve problems of other production engineers on a daily basis.
Requirements
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related area.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an Engineering role.
  • Advanced drafting/CAD skills.
  • Proficient with electrical design and circuitry.
  • Basic understanding of power system and relay applications as applied to products.
Working Conditions

The employee will typically perform duties in a normal office environment, with some work in a shop environment and exposure to the elements. Additionally, there may be some work performed in the field with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
