LGBTQ Community Educator Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Training & Community Educator to join our team at the San Diego LGBT Community Center. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community by providing education and support to service providers.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in curriculum design, training, and facilitation, with a background in mental health. They will be responsible for planning and facilitating our Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) program, conducting outreach to local service providers, and tracking training data.
This is a full-time position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and facilitate MHAT training sessions for service providers
- Conduct outreach to local organizations to promote the training program
- Track referrals and resources from partner agencies to link LGBTQ individuals to safe and affirming mental health services and housing resources
- Professional Experience: 2 years of experience in curriculum design, training, and facilitation, with a background in mental health
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and other training tools
- Language Skills: English
The salary for this position is $23-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience. The San Diego LGBT Community Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan and generous vacation time.
