About the Role

Roccam Recruiting is seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Strategist to join our team at a prestigious LGBTQ museum in San Francisco.

Job Description

This full-time, non-exempt position will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to increase awareness of the museum's exhibitions, events, and archival resources. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing Marketing Strategies: Create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Content Creation: Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to increase awareness of the museum's impact, exhibitions, events, and archival resources.
  • Social Media Management: Utilize analytics to track performance and optimize strategies for maximum impact.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to design short- and long-term strategies to identify new audiences and inspire them to engage with the organization.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or related activities, preferably in the non-profit sector or within arts and culture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms, including MailChimp, Squarespace, Salesforce, and Canva.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ and diverse communities, with a commitment to advancing justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in all aspects of internal and external communication practices.
