Job Summary

As a Clinical Care Specialist at the University of California, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care to a diverse population. This includes working collaboratively with clinic management, administration, faculty physicians, and other clinical staff to deliver high-quality care and maintain the highest standards of patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within the scope of practice.
  • Take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, including Windows computer function, computer navigation, and the use of computerized patient care systems.
  • Maintain a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff, and all health providers.

Requirements

  • Active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification.
  • Possession of BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and life-threatening medical problems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • 6+ months of LVN experience.
