Clinical Care Specialist

At the University of California, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population under the supervision of designated clinical staff members.
Working closely with our clinic management, administration, faculty physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and other clinical staff, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of care and recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms of life-threatening emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and obtaining drug refills as needed.
- Recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
- Perform phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within the scope of practice.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, including Windows computer function, computer navigation, and the ability to use computerized patient care systems.
- Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments.
Requirements:
- Possess an active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
- Possession of active CPR BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a cooperative working relationship with physicians, staff, and all health providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
- 1 or more years of LVN experience in a healthcare setting, specifically an outpatient clinic setting.
Salary Range: $45.66/hourly
