Position Overview: This dedicated professional is tasked with serving as a Field Operations Supervisor within VoltaGrid, proactively engaging with Foreman and the Operations Support Group to execute local, regional, and national operational strategies.

To ensure operational excellence, the Field Operations Supervisor coordinates resources at national, regional, and local levels to drive impactful results at the field level. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing operational plans and objectives while ensuring compliance with all HSEQ standards.

This individual provides direct, personalized orientation and support to foremen and company personnel, either through hands-on involvement or via remote expertise. The Field Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in all HSEQ initiatives and is essential for achieving operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate proactively with field teams to support operational requirements and business objectives, focusing on delivering VoltaGrid values and achieving operational excellence.
  • Conduct site visits to customers and offer assistance to field operation teams.
  • Identify, cultivate, and implement process simplification and enhancements for assigned teams.
  • Assist in fulfilling contractual obligations and managing daily operations for designated fleets and clients.
  • Oversee pre-planning, job execution, post-job evaluations, and overall performance of company assets on-site.
  • Possess knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and applicable laws to inform decision-making.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of improvement processes for frontline leaders and associated business units.
  • Manage fleet operations, including scheduling, payroll reviews, employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and field support.
  • Assist in supervising site-based project controls and personnel when appropriate.
  • Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion by collaborating and coaching business team members.
  • Provide conflict resolution, coaching, or recognition to direct reports as necessary.
  • Engage with team members and customers in person and via phone to conduct comprehensive needs assessments, including operational improvements and cultural needs.
  • Act as a communication bridge between customers and the operations support group.
  • Work alongside Business Development personnel to keep customers informed about technology and operational status.
  • Coordinate with customers on technical matters, including performance evaluations and process enhancements to better meet customer needs.
  • Effectively relay project-related information to the Operational Support Group team and manage relationships with customers and subcontractors, emphasizing critical thinking, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and time management.
  • Develop and implement standardized operational execution plans, incorporating goals, opportunities, and interventions aligned with VoltaGrid best practices.
  • Lead and assist in special projects, including risk mitigation initiatives, inventory management, and internal program audits.
  • Implement, maintain, and audit programs and procedures to ensure company compliance and relevance.
  • Participate in customer project meetings.
  • Consult with the Operations Support Group regarding equipment requirements and specifications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of weekly project reporting packages, including weekly NPT reports, identifying areas for improvement, and recognizing individuals who exceed their job responsibilities.
  • Compile data for both internal and external reports and KPIs.
  • Utilize influencing skills to ensure a strong HSEQ culture is upheld by all individuals associated with VoltaGrid, including personnel and third-party vendors.
  • Verify completion of safety meetings, JSA's, and all other required daily tasks.
  • Respond to incidents and damages appropriately, assisting in all aspects of injury investigation and reduction, training completion, and metrics verification for assigned fleets in collaboration with the HSEQ department.
  • Accountable for cost management and revenue impact related to assigned business units.
  • Responsible for P/L related to assigned business units.
  • Assist with Management of Change activities, Cost Control Forecasting, and invoicing reviews as required.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations, including corrective actions and project execution alternatives, related to plans, schedules, resource needs, person-hour expenditures, and physical progress.
  • Monitor subcontractor progress payments and site purchase order activities.
  • Conduct data analysis, trends, and reporting of critical operational business-level metrics.
  • Communicate with internal and external vendors regarding parts and scheduled maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • High School Education.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Field Technician/Forman (equivalent to another employer as determined by VoltaGrid Senior Management).
  • Completion of VoltaGrid Qual Card progressive training program.
  • Ability to leverage education, training, and experience to perform at a high level.
  • Demonstrated capability to supervise and manage team members.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality policies, procedures, and regulations governing employee and employer confidentiality.
  • Understanding of general business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordinating people and resources.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Clear driving record and valid driver's license required.
  • Strong physical and mental health to manage a demanding workload.
  • Able to work under pressure when necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong work ethic characterized by integrity and honesty, striving for excellence in all endeavors.
