Office Assistant Provost FWS Position

This role provides crucial support to the Provost Office by managing front-desk operations during designated times. The Student Assistant will be responsible for answering questions, handling phone inquiries, and offering general support to staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Front Desk Management: Greet visitors and answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. Direct inquiries to the appropriate office personnel or department.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
- Information Dissemination: Provide accurate information to students, faculty, and staff as required. Assist with navigating office resources and services.
- Coverage: Fill in for office staff during lunch hours each day and provide additional support for two hours in the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday.
- General Assistance: Support office staff with various tasks as needed, including handling correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining office organization.
- Enrollment: Must be a current student at Winthrop University with eligibility for a work-study program.
- Availability: Must be available to work during lunch hours (12-1pm) each day and for two hours (3-5pm) in the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday.
- Experience: Previous office or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Customer Service: Proven ability to provide high-quality customer service and address inquiries in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with office equipment (phones, printers, etc.).
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing issues that arise.
