Head of Clinical Laboratory Operations

The Head of Clinical Laboratory Operations is responsible for overseeing and directing the development and functioning of Clinical Laboratories. This role involves coordinating resources across various administrative disciplines and functions within the healthcare system, ensuring that the department operates efficiently and in compliance with all regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Leadership**: Directs the Clinical Laboratory Operations team by establishing, communicating, and fostering consensus around goals and programs that align with the organization's objectives.
2. **Strategic Vision**: Develops and articulates a clear short-term strategic vision for the areas under management.
3. **Operational Goals**: Sets and communicates clinical laboratory operations goals and objectives, identifying opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
4. **Performance Reporting**: Monitors and reports on operational performance, providing justifications and corrective actions as necessary.
5. **Policy Implementation**: Implements policies, standards, and procedures that support and enhance clinical laboratory operations across the organization.
6. **Market Adaptation**: Develops strategies for adapting clinical laboratory operations programs to market changes and introduces new service delivery models.
7. **Team Management**: Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports, while overseeing the selection and development of indirect reports.
8. **Program Review**: Continuously reviews the comprehensiveness of programs and formulates strategies for adapting to market changes.
9. **Technology Integration**: Identifies and implements technological advancements to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A current license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State is mandatory, along with any specialized certifications as needed.
- A minimum of 4 years of technical experience is required, with 0-2 years of leadership or management experience preferred, or a Master's Degree with 2 years of technical experience.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $112,800 and $197,200 per year. This range represents a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant at the time of this job advertisement and may be adjusted in the future.
