Job Overview

As a Front-End Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in crafting an exceptional customer journey through outstanding service. You will oversee and manage all activities, responsibilities, and operations of the front-end team. Your leadership will foster a safe and inviting atmosphere that encourages customer loyalty. Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively relay company, departmental, and role-specific information to team members.
  • Foster an environment where customers feel valued and appreciated by addressing inquiries about products and offering recommendations.
  • Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional advertisements.
  • Understand inventory management and Computer Assisted Ordering processes.
  • Adhere to scheduled operational hours.
  • Lead the front-end team by promoting service expectations, including but not limited to, QueVision, money services, and self-checkout objectives.
  • Ensure customer needs are met promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct daily team meetings with front-end associates to review service standards and performance.
  • Manage cash transactions and register operations using the VeriBalance system, ensuring safe procedures are followed; verify safe counts at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Coordinate breaks and meal periods for all front-end associates, including cashiers and service clerks.
  • Observe, mentor, and commend front-end associates daily on service expectations and operational standards.
  • Implement procedures to minimize shrinkage, including checking for items left in carts, scanning all products, and ensuring proper use of transaction slips.
  • Ensure compliance with customer service, cash handling, labor management, expense control, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, and engagement protocols.
  • Reinforce safety initiatives by adhering to safety guidelines and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Notify management of any customer or employee incidents.
  • Report safety hazards or illegal activities, including theft or fraud.
  • Oversee and ensure the efficient functioning of all front-end operations.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications

Minimum
  • Completion of training for checker, U-scan, service booth, and bagger roles.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic math proficiency: counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations.
  • Must meet the physical demands of the role.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possession of a current alcohol seller's permit upon employment.
Desired
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in cashiering, retail, or management.
  • Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
