Job Description

As a Product Engineer at Ichor Systems, you will be responsible for managing the introduction and production support of new products. This includes working with design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams to solve product issues and production problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate projects with minimal guidance from management
  • Lead and take ownership of design and/or project/sub-projects, ensuring accountability for meeting deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional departments, including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Planning
  • Lead process improvement teams to increase throughput by reducing process time and increasing yield
  • Use Lean Six Sigma practices in daily activities and problem-solving situations
  • Interface directly with R&D/Design engineering in the design of new components and assemblies
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering analysis in support of New Product Development (NPD) projects
  • Collaborate and contribute value in design reviews and communicate to teams in engineering and product managers to produce superior solutions
  • Support new products meet quality specifications and provide advisement in keeping with internal processes, industry best practices, and customer and regulatory requirements
  • Work with R&D engineers to transfer new products to the production line to ensure manufacturability
  • Setup production line, SPC charts, and yield report for the new production lines
  • Conceives and develops solutions, including equipment and processes, to meet objectives of volume manufacturing
  • Leverages understanding of various manufacturing processes and other production methods to ensure design solutions are manufacturable
  • Ensures all objectives regarding aesthetics, functionality, specifications, and manufacturability are met
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a contract manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of contract manufacturing environment and Bill of Material management
  • Proven record of managing and driving continuous process improvement activities
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identify root cause for action/resolution
