Job Summary

We're seeking a Chemical Blending Operator to join our team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for the daily operations of our chemical blending facility, including scheduling and execution of blends, maintenance of the chemical blending equipment, warehouse operations, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Blend and mix various chemical formulations using a blend sheet or recipe.
  • Monitor all tank activities and complete tank inventories daily.
  • Weigh and meter all blend components using volume meters and/or load cells.
  • Ensure the proper operation of measuring devices and report any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Use and be familiar with a variety of chemical pumps and material handling devices to transfer/transport blending materials.
  • Hook up tanks and hoses to blend and/or package the desired product.
  • Work closely with line supervisors to ensure proper tanks are connected to packaging stations and to notify operators when levels are getting low.
  • Monitor blending operations, mixing times, temperatures, and fill levels to ensure safety.
  • Be familiar with all products in storage tanks and their specific hazards.
  • Take necessary precautions and wear appropriate PPE to ensure employee safety.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Blend Operator required.
  • Previous experience in working with chemicals preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification.
  • Medically and physically capable of wearing respirator while performing the above listed work.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must be accessible by phone.
  • Valid Hazwoper certification preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand English for the purpose of interpreting Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
