Job Overview

Position Summary

This role involves collaborating with a team to support various activities within the classroom, kitchen, and as a disabilities aide when necessary. The individual will engage with both typically developing children and those with special needs or disabilities. Responsibilities may include reassignment to different classrooms or centers as required for effective program management. The position may also involve receiving technical guidance and training from supervisory staff, educators, and program coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in classroom activities
  • Support janitorial tasks
  • Help in kitchen operations
  • Provide assistance as a disabilities aide
  • Understand and adhere to Head Start Performance Standards and local childcare licensing regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulations related to the prevention of occupational hazards and injuries, including the application of universal precautions and contamination prevention.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must obtain and maintain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification within 90 days of employment
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds
