Position Summary:

This role is for an Information Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) with expertise in Federal government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) practices and policies. The selected candidate will collaborate within a structured consulting team, tasked with developing and delivering comprehensive security assessments, documentation, and vulnerability management to ensure compliance with required security standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and document security controls for client networks and infrastructure to comply with federal regulations.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of current infrastructure environments and perform risk assessments, documenting findings and validating security controls.
  • Utilize Federal C&A processes to research, verify, and document information security controls for system accreditation.
  • Coordinate and support multiple C&A initiatives annually for Authorization to Operate (ATO) renewals or updates.
  • Develop System Security Plans and standard operating procedures for Federal Information Systems.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and collaborate closely with federal stakeholders, including Information System Security Officers (ISSO), to maintain a robust security posture.
  • Maintain and update System Security documentation and report on security status and incidents.
  • Manage vulnerabilities identified by various security scanning tools and work with multiple teams to remediate these vulnerabilities in accordance with government policies.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
  • Eligible for U.S. Government Clearance.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible IT Security assessment and authorization experience.
  • Proven experience in Assessments and Authorizations, with a strong understanding of NIST guidelines.
  • Familiarity with federal government security guidelines, including C&A practices and NIST Publication Rev5 security control families.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard security scanning tools for hardware, applications, and static code.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and familiarity with security standards and protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and deliver security-related documentation.
  • Understanding of security requirements across management, operational, and technical controls.
  • Experience with Systems Security in the Federal sector.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, engineering, or a related field.
