Position Title: Engineering Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY:
The Engineering Supervisor plays a crucial role in delivering both technical and administrative support to the Director of Engineering, while also providing leadership across all operational facets of the Engineering Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver professional and courteous service to team members and guests.
- Oversee all maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and various equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections to monitor energy consumption across electric, gas, and water utilities.
- Train engineering personnel and ensure all tasks are completed effectively.
- Assign projects and ensure timely completion according to established specifications.
- Adhere to all lock out-tag out procedures and other safety practices in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Execute preventive maintenance services for guest rooms, food and beverage areas, conference spaces, and back-of-house facilities.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks and maintain accurate logs.
- Report safety and security issues to the Director of Engineering or the Manager on Duty without delay.
- Ensure the security of all key inventories.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies as needed.
- Engage in ongoing maintenance programs for event spaces, public areas, kitchens, and all convention center equipment.
- Conduct inventory duties as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness of grounds and the aesthetic appeal of landscaping.
- Ensure workspace and storage areas are clean and organized.
- Procure necessary materials or equipment.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings.
- Complete projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in HVAC, electrical systems, carpentry, and painting is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel engineering is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management capacity is necessary.
- Experience in condo or hotel settings is preferred.
- Pre-opening experience is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required; a four-year college degree is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with guests, associates, and external partners.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies.
